At just two years old, GAC’s Krtek is officially the first rescue of 2016!
This sweet little brindle boy broke his right rear leg racing on New Year’s Day. Lucky for him, GAC was quick to bring him into the kennel for some TLC. He received his first bath from Darren who was assisted by young volunteer Jessica Krtek, a senior at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo home on Christmas break.
Krtek’s care was just one of the many things Jessica helped with as a volunteer. We are lucky to have her on board!
So Jessica was given the honor of naming our new rescue and she chose her last name — which is also a cartoon character in Czech Republic. This will be a vacation to remember for Jessica. Sharing the love and commitment of new volunteers is what makes all the rescues worthwhile.
Little Krtek will need Specialty Medical Care to fix that broken leg so please consider donating today.
