250 greyhounds and counting. That’s how many dogs GAC Volunteer Trixie has met in the past two years of Small Dog Testing. This little wonder dog can size up a hound in no time and most of the greys need to come back for a second or third time before being deemed safe for small dogs.
Trixie is an exceptional small dog tester – the best GAC founder and president Darren Rigg has met in 30 years. Oozing self-confidence, this pint-sized dog whisperer allows each hound to thoroughly check her out, yielding to the shy ones and barking at the overly assertive ones. Less than 5% of the hounds fail the test.
Trixie was rescued five years ago from the San Diego County animal shelter by GAC volunteer Victoria Hilton. It was love at first sight! This black and white sweetie also lives with her best friend, 4-year old greyhound, Taj.
Trixie is richly rewarded for all her hard work — with trips to Dairy Queen for an ice cream cone. A little extra canned food is also added to her dinner on testing dates for a job well done.
