Looking for a way to make a difference this year? Maybe you’ll be inspired by the Lathrem family.
What started out as a community service project for high school student Brian Lathrem has turned into a regular family affair thanks to the charm of our GAC hounds. This entire family from Jamul, Calif. – including mom Lisa, dad Brian Sr. and daughter Bella –volunteers to help feed and exercise some four dozen hounds during the week.
Lisa Lathrem especially loves spending extra time with the very gentle “mama” dogs Phoebe and Pandora. While teenager Bella discovered that all the dogs need hugs.
GAC depends on more than 80 volunteers to help take care of the dogs at the kennel. It’s a round-the-clock operation to change bedding, fill dog bowls, exercise the hounds, deliver medications and clean up after them. We can always use more help! If your family is looking for a unique way to spend some quality time together in 2015, consider GAC. Just fill out the volunteer application on our website today.
