It may have taken an entire year for Minnie (GAC’s Party) to find her forever home, but it certainly was worth waiting for! Turns out her new family in Palm Springs includes her greyhound uncle, 9-year old Moment, and years ago her adopters brought home two other greyhounds from Minnie’s distinguished racing family.
She arrived at GAC on July 6, 2013 with 18 other dogs from Kansas and had to be carried off the dog hauler because of a severely broken leg requiring complex surgery and many months of healing. Pretty Minnie won the hearts of everyone at the kennel as she recuperated and underwent additional procedures.
(Special thanks to all the volunteers and staff that went out of their way to help her heal!)
Minnie’s new family is very experienced with greyhounds that need extra TLC. They report she did fine during the 2 ½ hour drive home, loves getting special treats, plays outside in a large backyard with lots of grass and really enjoys her two dozen toys. Minnie’s family said to tell all the gang she left behind that she misses them and “the stories are true, there is a family out there for all of us!”
