PINK is a red female that arrived at the kennel in April 2020 with one other female, Fuchsia. They were named after the recent pink super moon. Though she looked healthy enough with no injuries upon arrival, she tested positive for Ehrlichia canis. This infection is transmitted through tick bites and can cause fevers, rashes, and bleeding disorders. She seems to have none of these symptoms, thankfully. This infection is currently being treated and she is doing well as she settles into kennel life.
You can help us save more dogs by becoming a sponsor. Many of our sponsor dogs are “special needs” greyhounds whose stay at our kennel may be longer than most requiring more resources to feed, medicate and provide other care. Becoming a sponsor is a great way to be a GAC “insider” and get to know some of the greyhounds you are helping. All it takes is a $20 (or more) monthly donation to be linked to one of our carefully chosen sponsor dogs. You’ll receive a monthly mailing complete with a photo of your dog and a detailed letter about all their activities. Once your dog finds a forever home, you’ll be the first to know! Below are photos of our latest sponsor dogs. Sponsors get to follow their exploits as they venture into the “outside world” thanks to weekly excursions with volunteers.
