The newest group of rescued hounds has some very fast names! Volunteers rallied last weekend to rescue 17 greyhounds from the Caliente racetrack in Tijuana. The dogs were picked up in the early morning hours of March 28 and three of the retired racers were delivered to our friends at Operation Greyhound.
Retired racers make a pit stop at the vet’s office a few days later.
Now named for Formula One race car drivers, the remaining 14 dogs at GAC were shuttled to Harmony Animal Hospital for their first check-ups. Overall, the nine girls and five boys are doing fine.
At 5 ½, Sweet Ascari is the oldest of the group with 354 races under her belt. This lady deserves some pampering!
