A massive effort on Saturday, September 5 brought 50 retired racing greyhounds into the safe and loving arms of volunteers from greyhound rescue organizations across Southern California.
Twelve of these greyt dogs were brought to GAC where volunteers helped to bath, feed and process the dogs in the early morning hours. Visit our Flickr page to see the team in action.
The major haul from Tijuana, Mexico was arranged and coordinated by Fast Friends in La Habra Heights, Calif. In addition to GAC, other groups taking in the dogs include GreySave, Greyhound Friends for Life and Homestretch. The six boys and six girls now at GAC have been named for famous opera characters. Bravo!
