GAC is grateful to 17 students from the University of California San Diego who spent a Sunday afternoon volunteering at the kennel. As part of a nationwide college community service program called Alternative Breaks, these students helped our staff wash dogs, sweep up, transfer dog food from off-site storage and exercise several of the greyhounds. Alternative Breaks hosts weekend events as part of its mission to create globally conscious, active citizens who commit to lifelong service. We like that!
